District CLOSED for Winter Break, December 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025

Hamtramck Public Schools is open and in session today.  Hamtramck Academy has reported closed.  Please see the following list of closures today on the local news website for up to date closures.

Dear HPS staff and families,

Due to the winter weather advisory in effect until 7:00 am Thursday Hamtramck Public Schools and administration buildings will be closed Thursday, February 13.  

All Wednesday afterschool events scheduled past or after 5:00 pm are cancelled.

Tonight’s Board meeting is rescheduled for 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Due to expected inclement weather, the February Board Meeting will be re-scheduled to Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

Due to predicted snow and ice tomorrow morning that is expected to make travel to work and school dangerous for students, families, and staff, Hamtramck Public Schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 6.

Afterschool activities will be at the discretion of principals and the athletic director.

Due to a cold weather advisory until 12:00 pm Wednesday, where temperatures with windchill are projected to reach -25 degrees, Hamtramck Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Please stay warm and safe.
